Error 691 seems to be occurring a lot - any ideas?
Error 691 is described as follows: "The computer you're dialing in to cannot establish a Dial-Up Networking connection. Check your password, and then try again."
This is a standard error, it could be your phone line, if you try again this usually works.

I'm concerned about people using the smtp server for spam email - how do you stop that if you don't have to sign up for the service?
It's restricted by the IP address that they are allocated when they dialup.

The Host Europe password and username do not work, what should I do?
Any username and password will work because it doesn't check anything.

How do you set up dialup on Windows 2000 professional?
It's a standard dial up connection. It'll be similar to the 98/XP options.

What is the IP range for the dialup servers?

Can I access the 123-reg dialup from outside the UK?
No. The dialup service is only accessible from within the UK.

Can you use BT Highway ISDN?
No, the services are incompatible.

I have a MAC, what are the settings for dial up?

Nameservers are automatically assigned, but if necessary they are:

* ns5.bt.net 194.72.9.34
* ns6.bt.net 194.74.65.68
* Outgoing mailserver is smtp.hosteurope.com

Username and password for PPP connection (remote access connection on older Macs) are necessary but can simply be two alphanumeric strings, say "a" and "b".
